There are currently three main publishing standards in the eLearning world: SCORM, AICC, and Tin Can API. (A Traditional SCORM content is Flash-based, which may cause issues on new platforms and mobile devices. In most cases, nowadays, it is highly recommended that you publish for HTML5. Doesn’t allow elaborate reporting.

Studio has always been known for the PowerPoint to Flash approach, but it also includes audio narration, TOC (yeah!) and customized player. 1st vendor IMO to truly have HTML5 output. Task management.

Flash vs. HTML5. I am seeing many vendors still offering the ability to output screen recording and video to flash. Less vendors are offering the HTML5 output, which seems to be strange, especially as more e-learning vendors as a whole are jumping right in. Support (as in output) to AICC/SCORM – a major win!
