Strange, since I could find no evidence, no information from multiple research standpoints, that Microsoft pitches it an authoring tool. Yes, you can use it for many different things, and yes, Microsoft has an add-on that turns PPT into something similar to Adobe Presenter. At least SCORM support – Plenty still support AICC.

Microsoft Word converted to Flash? Desktop or SAAS – i.e. you either dl the software and work on it on your desktop or your server OR you access the software in the “cloud&#. PENS was created in 2005 by AICC as a new interoperability standard. Is it PowerPoint converted to Flash? Desktop – 80.

The downside to this, is I wasn’t able to listen to Death Cab for Cutie (a band), but on the upside, I learned that this person was one of the first 100 employees ever to work at Microsoft. Supports all course standards including xAPI and PENS, and yes, SCORM too. in iTunes and Google Play). Pretty much supports all verticals.
