PowerPoint still reigns – If you are a course purist, the idea that PPT should be seen as an authoring tool should make you grumble with disgust. . Strange, since I could find no evidence, no information from multiple research standpoints, that Microsoft pitches it an authoring tool. PowerPoint is presentation software.

Microsoft Word converted to Flash? An alarming rate of “get the content up now, ASAP&# regardless of what it looks like, instructional design is typically tossed out the window, especially when the ID, CD or whomever is tasked to create is handed a stream of documents in Word or PPT or some other form. The Aviation Industry Computer-Based Training Committee (AICC) standard is an eLearning protocol. Currently, the AICC format is over 30 years old. Not so when the PPT is online.
