Video in Captivate – Embed Vs Stream. Video files are often large. What that means is 30 full size pictures, a second, are created. If your video is 60 seconds long, then it has 1800 pictures, and that doesn’t even include the larger audio files that comes with them. It can be, but quite often, it isn’t.

It’s a very effective medium that combines the best aspects of audio, picture, and plain ol’ face-to-face teaching. Good Audio Goes a Long Way. Being someone who has dabbled in video myself, bad audio is the bane of my existence. Video has a growing presence in eLearning courses, and that’s for good reason.

I wouldn’t recommend using Text to Speech this way as a habit, at least not for mobile devices, because what it does is embed an actual audio file, rather than converting the text on the fly.
