I have used all the other major tools (WebEx, GoToMeeting, Adobe Connect, Google Hangouts, Skype, etc.), It also includes the option for calling in on a phone rather than just VOIP, so you can get better quality audio. There are some other free and low-cost options as well. I’ve heard positive reviews for MavenLink.

Divide your lesson or topic into varied formats like discussions, collaboration, video and audio clips, hands-on exercises with text, and possibly brief video lectures. It’s easy to use and the video and audio quality is quite good. For a student to be engaged, pages of text or an hour-long video are not the best idea.

It could be text, graphics, animation, video, audio or more enhancing tools. A course which uses PowerPoint presentations, simple video, audio, graphics and quizzes of True-False or multiple-choice test questions. A course that makes use of animation, audio narration, basic drag and drop functions, and more interactive media.

This is to say that 90% of features most folks seek are nearly universal in a LMS – low cost or otherwise. Integration with Skype – finally! Video and audio streaming. Asking for streaming audio is not. These expand past the standard feature sets, which I call 90/10. Online book clubs. Video camera.

My original intention was to record the interviews online through Skype, using the Pamela add-on, but tests showed that the audio and video quality wasn't going to stand up. I've been surprised so far how at how natural the interviewees' responses have been and at the technical quality they are able to achieve with low-cost equipment.

BigBlueButton is a free web-conferencing tool with text chat, audio and video capabilites, a virtual whiteboard and many more presentation and conferencing features.
