In my Ten Predictions for eLearning for 2008 , I said - Wiki + SCORM + Add-ins will become more common for easy authoring. Not sure if he saw my post, but I was just reminded by Tim Seager from Xerceo about their Prescribe tool that provides: Full Wiki, RSS functionality that is SCORM conformant for tracking and managing competencies.

Everything EdTech suffers from, and has for numerous years – in terms of how students learn, showed up, which resulted in really this indignation that online learning or as folks refer to as remote learning is a dud. Articulate Rise, is a cloud-based authoring tool, not a hybrid – and will fully admit as so.

This is where the rubber meets the road, by dreaming up features we invent the mLearning systems future right here. Social/Collaborative – Offering tools that mimic social media/network software will be one obvious theme. I envisage two primarily that would add value; the first would be an ontology search/verify/suggest tool.

They could use cameras, graphics software, a combination of these, or some other tools to create and capture their illustrations. Using the built in YouTube Editor, ask them to select sections and mash them up, mixing elements to create a totally new message. Who is the mash up video aimed at (audience and purpose)?

LTI (Learning Tool Interoperability) in particular has cracked the LMS open. The learning tools that were previously only native to the LMS are now are externalized from the LMS, and enabled as cloud-based “tools.” The IMS is at the cutting edge of web 2.0 open and flexible architectures. LTI is a disruptor.

And I would suggest that there are a couple of interesting implications: Web-Based, Niche Authoring Tools I've claimed for a while (see Authoring in eLearning 2.0 / Add-ins & Mash-ups and Incredibly Cool! You somewhat see this with Survey Tool. And there are lots of subjects where sharing makes sense.

I've seen the Content Authoring Research Report from the eLearningGuild that suggests what tools are being used in 2005 and it suggests that most content is being authored using fairly traditional tools such as Flash, PowerPoint, Dreamweaver, Captivate, Lectora. embedded based on other tools or add-ins.

If you want the longer version, you can review past criteria, mash it up, and extract key details. The goal of FAL is to have the best systems, the nextgen systems and the systems that are up and coming, and we continue to do that, but it is never a requirement. Built-in authoring tool far better than most in the space.

Even not having the card prior to arrival, but signing up online, gets you free internet. . Each item in the list must be completed and in many cases numerous times – this builds up retention. Anyway, video courses both by consumers (clients of LMS vendors) and 3rd party content providers are showing up more and more.

I don’t blame you for that at all, because it is usually boring, dull, stale and proof that courses and various pieces of content rate right up there with going to the dentist (unless that is your type of thing and enjoy it). This is also true if you create a course via a 3rd party authoring tool or some other way.
