Many vendors hyping PowerPoint to Flash angle as key feature. Some acquisitions, some goodbyes, but overall very strong.

Freebies from the vendors. Anyway, pens seemed to be the common item. I honestly cannot recall a vendor who had a good giveaway. Learning heroes were wearing yellow capes and had blue eye covering masks. Then, get this – they did a flash mob to some song about heroes, which I forgot already. E-Learning 24/7.

One vendor already offers it in 2012, and knowing this industry – if something takes off and works, others will follow. Listen you love flash. Right now, you have to upload the course as you would with your SCORM wrapper, where you self-upload or use the course within an online mobile platform from your authoring tool vendor.

AICC, SCORM and PENS support. Studio has always been known for the PowerPoint to Flash approach, but it also includes audio narration, TOC (yeah!) Well besides my rankings of course, think about this: 1st vendor to offer collaboration and peer review. 1st vendor to have online/offline mobile synch. Not with Publisher.

Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. Flash output – still red hot. The latter is slowly gaining speed, which is an advantage to LMS vendors who have a CAT in their own product – which is SCORM,PENS/IMS compliant. It isn’t.

SCORM/AICC/PENS/IMS. Q: We are using Windows XP, IE 7 and Flash 6 at our company. A: Depends on the vendor. Any vendor worth their weight will tell you minimum requirements. Do not assume that your vendor or potential vendor will work with an earlier version of Flash, Windows or even IE. .
