The new iSpring Pro 7 – currently in beta adds additional powerhouse features, including PPT to HTML5 output (which right now is a standalone product). #8 While their Slideshark app for the iPad is nifty, it is not the only product that showcases PPT and is free. Yeah it is another PPT spin product but does stand out. #5

For PPT lovers, you can synch video files with PPT with drag and drop. the iPad – looked sharp. It enables you to upload PPT onto the iPad and present it to people – on the floor, at a location, etc. You can also connect the iPad PPT to a monitor and show it there. It is 100% bogus.

Innovation abounded and the push to focus on the “PPT to Flash&# angle continued to shine. iPod, mobile phones, YouTube, message boards, e-mail. Import and convert PPT to the web, add rich media. 264 codec, which the iPad supports, and a few browsers for HTML5. iPad feature, the iPad 2 is coming out in Feb.

Speaking of holding in a pattern, here is a list of vendors – SaaS and desktop who output to HTML5 (please note: that this does not include authoring tool vendors whose product can be seen on a tablet, including the iPad – which is achieved thorough a web browser). iSpring Pro but it only converts PPT to HTML5.

PowerPoint – Ability to integrate or use PPT in your courses. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. One vendor focuses only on Blackberry (not just Playbook but their smartphone like product). I hope it does – especially with SaaS products.

You can expect to see a continued increase, thankfully, in the number of vendors who will target tablets.

The two biggest negatives IMO, is that it just isn’t robust enough for e-learning developers and its whole focus on PPT into converting to a course doesn’t help. But, from an e-learning developer standpoint, the thought of using a template is the same as painting with numbers. Yeah, people love it.
