With increasing bandwidths and better compression techniques available, use of videos in Flash platform based eLearning courses is on the rise. Don’t double compress videos – use uncompressed or lossless formats when compressing to FLV format. Encoding videos to FLV. Embedded - Importing and placing videos on Flash timeline.

The Open Screen Project was started to help create a singular experience on multiple devices (using Flash) be it Computers, Mobiles, TV or Game consoles. Obviously, using Flash platform tools offered by Adobe. The most important one is Adobe removing restrictions on SWF and FLV/F4V specifications. How’s it going?

If I publish so that both of these buttons are gray, will my module work in an LMS when Flash is no longer supported? drag and drop) rely on swf?? I am attempting to embed short (10 sec) video files to a captivate 2019 project and publish it as an swf file. When viewing the swf file, the videos appear to be attempting to load (i get loader icon indications) but the video never loads. I have checked to ensure that my flash player is up-to-date in my browser (IE) also.

FLV, F4V, and SWF are flash video formats designed for Flash Player, but they’re commonly used to stream video on YouTube. Flash is not supported by iOS devices. If you are downloading from YouTube, the format should be a.flv (flash video). AVI offers the highest quality but also the largest file sizes.

Adobe’s Flash Professional is widely used for eLearning development but some organizations don’t allow running Flash Player or any other 3 rd party plug-ins for that matter in their web browsers. No support for AS 3.0
