While it was a very useful collection of interactions, it mainly featured a bunch of memory aids such as flash cards. It is not easy to design HTML5 interactions from the ground up and make them behave exactly like their Flash counterparts. That's why I am excited about the new Raptivity HTML5 Starter Pack.

Storyline wins because it provides three options with one publish: Flash, Storyline mobile player for the iPad, or HTML5. Lectora has always been mobile friendly because it never relied on Flash. Once again, Studio is a non-starter here as it is only outputs to Flash (but will output to HTML5 in v2013). So which tool is best?

I don’t find developing software simulations to be particularly rewarding, for example, because there often isn’t a ton of creativity. A: I wouldn’t learn Flash right now. Most Flash e-learning now is done with rapid tools anyway. Usually if the Flash work requires a programmer, there’s a separate team for that.

Adobe Flash - The initial interface was built in Flash. However, the Flash movie sits within Articulate Presenter and navigates to an assessment made in Articulate Quizmaker which also sits within the same Presenter project (more on this later). Adobe Captivate - I used this for creating every simulation in the course.

We saw that Storyline 360 can be used to develop good software simulations and online assessments. Flash objects and interactivities in the SWF format can be inserted. Certainly, as the person asking the questions states, if you were going for Software Simulation eLearning then Captivate (or the other tools list in my post) would be more appropriate than Captivate. But, in this case, it's not simulation, it's interactive presentation. So I'm not alone in my opinion about these tools.
