Not all that long ago controlling what learners see first in Adobe Captivate published eLearning content was as simple as creating a visually-appealing first slide in the project. However,   Unfortunately, the Auto Play screen isn't among your Filmstrip slides so there does not appear to be a way to modify or brand it.

Hello, In both versions of Cap 2017 and 2019, I’m having an issue where I’ve got a small png file, 75 kb, that I’m using as the retry message fill when someone gets a quiz question wrong. I’ve customized the Incorrect and Retry shapes by selecting Fill and using the same image in my library. No problems.

Some captions and parts of images might have a dark background when published in CP5 with slide quality set as JPEG. This is because the mechanism to publish images has changed significantly from CP4 to CP5. Keeping the file size reasonably low with high resolution images can be quite a challenging task.

They don’t have Captivate and don’t want us to replace images and republish multiple modules every time they want to resell the courses. The logos are on multiple master slides and are png files. Is there a way to replace images within the module after it is published?

Click the image to see a larger version. As I built the slides, I wrote the slide number by each node of the flowchart for future reference. To produce the slides and SWF, I used Keynote 08 ( not Keynote 09! ). Keynote is a slide editor for the Mac. There are no variables involved.

Poster image. To get rid of the white screen, you need to create a “poster image”? That is a static image, preferably with the same resolution as your project. For a non-responsive project, published with Rescalable turned on, the poster image will fill up the screen. Play Arrow. Dimmed or not Dimmed?

My solution was similar, though I used a large page-sized PNG with a window cut in it. However, if you don’t use a Skin, the video will automatically play when the user navigates to a slide. The solution I found was to “pause” the video on slide Enter using JavaScript in an Advanced Action. Controlling Playback with JavaScript.
