Remember Lotus 1-2-3? For those of us, who experienced the late 80s when Floppy Discs ruled, and then used Lotus in the 90’s, the memory of such a solution, is easily forgotten (although I did take an online course using only Lotus Notes, in 1998). I would love to know who is still using Lotus Notes 6.5.

Prior to the whole online scene, you could access information via FTP sites known as Archie, Veronica and Jughead (yes, totally true. Other options were universities who went online, via Lotus Notes. Heck, I was in a doctorate program, whereas the majority of the ‘courses’ was via Lotus Notes, the other was ILT.

An LMS can be as good or as bad as a learning platform, a PXP, LXP, skills-focused, or whatever someone wants to call their learning system. For a system and a company worth an estimated 1B dollars, the UX for metrics should be impressive borderline unbelievable. I have always disagreed with that premise. Missed Opps.

Read various sites and it is data knowledge, as in how to handle the data, data science, data modeling and validation. Sure you can watch a video on Salesforce CRM or Lotus 1-2-3, but people learn best when the content is interactive and mimics the product. Data To Think About. Data segmentation appears too. .

Take the LMS, learning system administrator role. Regardless if you have an LMS or some other type of learning system, and regardless of the size of the place you work at, if you can have a full-time administrator, I strongly recommend it. Basically do they know how to access the internet, move around and visit sites?
