Once upon a time, on desktops far, far away, there was PowerPoint for Windows and something very very different for Mac… If you remember PowerPoint:mac 2011, you might still have recurring nightmares about the amount of effort it took to create presentations. However, some of these features never make it to the Mac at all.

I was recently asked what video format to use and particularly about the differences between the Flash Video Format (FLV) and Windows Media - WMV Format. In The Rise of Flash Video - Tom Green tells us: This is not to say QuickTime and Windows Media are dead technologies.

I've previously written about how to go about doing this in PowerPoint 2007 with an internet connection and without an internet connection as well as how to do this in PowerPoint 2008 for the Mac. In the latest version (2010), uploading videos from the web is easier than ever.

It records in HD and exports to all common video formats. It doesn’t, though, have any advanced features like animations, or editing capabilities beyond cropping the beginning and end of each video. The full-fledged version is only for PC users. Lastly, you’ll need video and audio editing software.
