I’ll post it, or email to SMEs, and request edits to the PPT slides. I print out in Notes view for a storyboard, or 1st draft. Rough Draft.

A one-to-one conversion is out of question and even if you do not intend or require a redesign, most slides will have to recreated. Depending on the nature of the source files, PPT,STORY,CPTX etc, you may be able to convert these to HTML5 if the latest versions of the same software offer backward compatibility and upgrade your source files.

If you’re an expert in your domain, both knowledgeable and confident of the subject matter, you might think it unnecessary to prepare either a basic storyboard or a script. Take the time to write a script and prepare a storyboard. They can eliminate much of the “tell” (endless PPT slides with bulleted lists, anyone?)

Action map: For mapping, I use Compendium , which lets you paste text, PowerPoint slides, PDFs, and web sites in the map. This makes it easy to locate the relevant information when I write the storyboard. For example, you could send an email pointing out that Carol’s PPT said X, while the IT policy document said Y.

If they are in the PPT format, you can convert them into PDF files and then import them into Flipbook Maker. In this tool, GUIs can be customized easily to such an extent that you can have a different GUI for each slide. Which tool allows my instructional designers to seamlessly create storyboards for online courses?

As the developer clicks on each comment in turn, Captivate automatically navigates to the correct slide and the correct moment in the slide so that the developer can immediately see exactly what the tester could see and does not have to spend time searching for it.
