However there are vendors who sell their API solution wrapped in a piece of software. Google code is open source code, so you can manipulate. Typically APIs are free.

Make no mistake, there are plenty of vendors out there who believe in the concept of focusing on features and forgetting about usability, under the guise that people would rather have lots of cool blinky things rather than usability. There are a plethora of vendors out there, with blinders on. . Moodle Syndrome. Tech Support.

I like this system and its functionality in comparison to the other players in this space. That said, across the board for all Big Dog systems, their social learning functionality was weak. Nothing wrong with Moodle mind you and a lot of people love it, but if you want to look at someone else, here is that someone else.

You can use either your own 3rd party content authoring tool and upload it into the “Cloud&# and then wherever you are, output either to your LMS, or onto Moodle or even WordPress (they have a plug in for that) OR place the course in Facebook or nearly any solution that accepts APIs. SCORM Cloud – What’s not to love?

Never assume that they know the terminology in the industry, nor assume that what you think one term means, doesn’t necessarily mean what the vendor thinks it means. In the Enterprise and Large Enterprise it is not uncommon to get pricing that is quite high, especially if the vendor knows procurement is involved.
