” When publishing to HTML the AutoPlay is automatically disabled, Reason is that some devices and OS (iOS) do not allow Autoplay. For SWF output you had the choice: it was possible to change the default setting which was to have a movie playing automatically after loading. You will have seen them in previous blog posts.

Right now im struggeling to 1) publish my project as a html-only version and get it to work on moodle (optimally with LMS SCORM 1.2). Here I want to publish it in html. From all the publishing advice I’ve read I can anyhow only pusblish it as html. When i delete the.pdf,swf data from the zip, nothing will start.

In the image below, notice that there is white space above the SWF (just below the browser's menu bar).

The common way to publish a completed Captivate eLearning video is as a SWF (small web file). When the publish process is complete, you will end up with three files: an HTML file (which is what your learner will need to open the lesson in a web browser), a JavaScript file (called standard.js) and the SWF containing your lesson.

If however, you preview exactly the same project as ‘HTML 5 in Browser’, on the final press of the submit button, instead of taken the user back to the menu, the course advances to the next slide. I’m guessing this is some kind of bug since the only difference is the way in which the course is being previewed?

I published the file first as a swf and Html, then just and html file and I’m getting the same results. I have loaded my folder on a SharePoint site and when I open up the index file it just spins, I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.

If you publish your Captivate projects as SWFs, you can combine multiple SWF files into one lesson using the Aggregator. Once added to an Aggregator project, you can publish the combined files as a SWF, EXE file, PDF or HTML. The published Aggregator file will include a TOC using the names of the separate SWF files.

I suppose all developers are aware that the final death of Flash Player, SWF output will be there sooner than expected. I have published them in both swf and html. It requires Tabs, Page Up, Page Down and Pause/Breaks. I am able to program them just fine. They work perfectly when I use Captivate 2017 and Preview them with the Project option. Does something need to be on the web server that I might be missing? Please help. Perplexed, Dona Conn.

Beware: the embedded movie is a SWF, you need a browser with enabled Flash Player to watch that movie. Everything worked fine for SWF output also in later versions. However it is now partially broken for HTML output in CP9 and CP2017. It is this second part that is no longer functional in recent versions for HTML output.
