Instead of IM''ing each other, we''re talking in person. It''s way more efficient and less maddening than having my Gchat icon flashing all day, since I already suffer from multitasking overload, thanks to email, Yammer, Campfire, social media, and multiple browser tabs.

She had not used a chat room, IM, Facebook, or MySpace before joining a site called OurPrayer.org. Second Life focused his attention–unprogrammed worship requires that focus, not multitasking. Chose MySpace b/c lots of existing religious tools available (e.g., Bible verse of the day). Jeanette Eggert. Chat has structure.

However, one article caught my eye "MySpace, IM--why so addictive?" Finally, Ms Stahl (probably 16 or 17) tells us adults what we have frustrately witnessed for years--teenagers expect to multitask and enjoy dealing with the whirlwind of technology that is constantly at their finger tips. In todays’ time-crunched, attention-deficit and multitasking world, micro-learning seems to have cropped up as a possible solution to corporate learning and personal development. Tweet chats, telephone conversations, IMs, coffee time discussions – any and all of these can be micro-learning. A comment from a peer on one’s work.

Is multimedia the same as multitasking? Im not saying to leave the info a mystery; Im saying that Ive seen a lot of elearning that seems to underestimate the intelligence of the learner and makes every little thing painfully explicit. Im not sure what to make of it, honestly. Im way out of practice.
