In my opinion, it’s not that providing on-demand learning and performance solutions is a new idea. What is new, however, is the ratio of on-demand solutions to more traditional training offerings. There is no central network the learners can access. Particularly for those communities formed online or in close proximity.

We still get our information from other people, but instead of having to go to a classroom or library to take it in, we can all sit down at a computer to learn just about anything we would ever want to learn, when we want to learn it. Our world has evolved into a just-in-time learning society.
