Q : I am curious on why Cornerstone On Demand, Saba and SumTotal do not appear in your top twenty lists even though they appear on other sites as the best products in the market. Saba - A solid system, but IMO (in my opinion) better suited for talent/performance management. So, back for another installment. Am I missing something?

It could be SaaS infrastructure, PaaS infrastructure, a hybrid infrastructure, sitting on your own servers infrastructure, but it is infrastructure. Can sit on your own servers, SaaS or a hybrid. Many people are only aware of the bigger names such as Cornerstone, Saba, SuccessFactors, Oracle Learn, Infor and Sum Total.

I found that of concern, especially when server crashes were constant. The content even with content publishers, beyond just aggregators sits on their servers and not say, the learning system. Cornerstone acquired Saba, and Clustree. that needed a system. E-Learning did not exist prior to the Internet.

Rather, you are an imaginary friend who thinks he is a server. The biggest surprise to me is Saba. Again, this is in reference to the learning portion of Saba and not the entire platform of talent, etc. Saba is the unknown here, because of their previous track record. If you are 0, then you are not a learning system.

I identify the Big Dogs as SumTotal by Skillsoft (yes, that is the actual name), Cornerstone OnDemand, Saba, SucessFactors and Oracle Taleo (although, I ask myself who is using this and if you still are why?). However, I will say this: I like what Saba is doing. The system still – equally as Saba – needs some work.

Cannot skin on the SaaS version and even if you host it on your own servers you have to do it via CSS code (this is not uncommon in the VLP market, but it still is a minus in book).
