I am working on a new software simulation. Just received a new computer with the updated version of captivate and for some reason the simulation only shows the first and last slide i do with nothing in the middle. I have two monitors and set the simulation to record the application window.

My solution: create only a training sim, then insert a software demo inside the training file ( add a video demo slide before the training slides). The post Workflow for Software Simulations appeared first on eLearning. This way all the info the learner needs is in one file. Hope this helps.

I am using adobe captivate to record software simulation training, but the software is not on a computer, it is on an app. Meaning that when the mouse goes to click on something it doesn’t show what it is going to click on until the last second and then transitions to the next slide. Is there a better way?

Storyline does a great job recording software simulations. Once you've recorded a simulation and added it to a scene, you will likely notice that Storyline captured too much. Right-click the slide that needs to be tuned and choose  Action Fine Tuning.

Dear Experts, I have a progressive download video on the second slide of my captivate project (which is otherwise a software simulation) and I would like to do a transition at the end of the video (which is also the end of the slide, as I set the length of the slide to the same as the video) back to the first slide.

Hi there… I have a software simulation project with.wav audio on each slide and it works *perfectly* EXCEPT when I publish it to an LMS the audio doesn’t play on the first slide; it plays fine on the rest of them, but not on the first one. I have tried almost everything but I can’t figure this out.

As far as the LMS is concerned, the learner skipped the slide.

This is basically a software simulation with an avatar & audio. Most slides have a clickable area within the LMS interface. Each slide also has a hint button to give learners some extra tips. I also noticed that a few of my slides were working just fine without any change to those settings.

Since simulations or soft skills lessons are typically produced slide-by-slide (in Captivate, Storyline, PowerPoint, or Presenter), I think it's best to record or import the audio directly onto the slide once the slide is done.

So far we’ve learned how to create a responsive project, rescale it, add Fluid Boxes to the slides, add objects to the Fluid Boxes, apply background fill , modify the properties of the Fluid Boxes, use the static and optional properties, best practices for adding text , and using Fluid Boxes in master slides. I am trying to create a software simulation where I can zoom into a section of the screen, pan to another section of the screen, zoom in a little further before finally zooming out. Again this is not apparently possible as the next slide would reset to full screen before enacting any zoom.
