Every time I write about the course standards, whether on my blog or, lately, on LinkedIn, I receive a lot of responses, feedback, and folks wanting to know more. SCORM’s premise, not what it can or cannot do, was its huge premise of interoperability—far more so than AICC. Why would anyone still want to use AICC?

I know there are courseware providers who have course standards including AICC, but again, as folks know – I think AICC should be removed and placed in the Smithsonian as a relic. . This is why I can’t understand why Linkedin didn’t do more with Lynda.com. You need an added “hook” if you will.

What I am finding is that AICC is nearly gone in the LEP space (as it is with LMSs too), so if I was you, I’d seek SCORM, SCORM 1.2, Linkedin Learning does this and I hate it. Not seen across the board, so folks have it, Linkedin Learning does (see, I can say nice things), but overall most don’t. You want it.
While Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn lead the way as some of the most popular social networks, the informal, public nature of these outlets does not necessarily meet the needs of working professionals operating within businesses and corporations.
