by AJ George  A PowerPoint user approached me recently with an issue. She was given a PowerPoint template with a company logo on it. She was asked to remove the logo but could not. My first thought was to tell her to remove it from the master slides. The background was instead a repeating pattern.

For the most part these characters can be created in PowerPoint so you don’t need other tools. Start by selecting the clip art image, ungrouping it, and making the customizations you need. I also like to save the new image as a.png. Create Characters by Pulling Them Out of Stock Images. Then regroup it.

I was trying to come up with a way to add a logo and few icons into PowerPoint. The images all had different background colors, and I needed them to all have a uniform look. You have a logo, icon, or other images that you’re trying to design with, but you need to remove the background of the image.

Obviously there are a lot of bad presentations created with PowerPoint, but it seems to me the blame rests on the shoulders of the presenter and not the tool. The other day I made some images for a course menu page in Rise 360. When I reviewed my final image, I realized that there were several iterations. With this particular menu, I needed an image that had a 10:3 aspect ratio. In this case, the images are 1280 x 384. I liked the gray image and text overlay.
