Thursday, June 28, 2007 Emerging Technologies in e-Learning I sat in on a lunchtime WebEx presentation with Gary Woodill -- Director, Research and Analysis, Brandon Hall Research. The topic: Emerging Technologies in e-Learning. Emerging" = kinds of e-learning that are just starting to show up -- in labs, new company offerings.
Those future trends include Spontaneous Learning Systems (SLS), Intelligent Mentoring Systems (IMS), and highly personalized learning services. Monday, June 25, 2007 Getting Pysched for FaceBook Im definitely feeling out-of-my element in this whole FaceBook thing. Im trying to get into it and discover its potential professional uses. Im just scratching the surface, I suppose. Im feeling lonely and really nerdy. Id like to push this somehow, but Im not sure.

Friday, June 08, 2007 Instructional Designers Tools Theres been a good conversation going on over at Christy Tuckers Experiencing E-Learning blog about instructional design. I think Im somewhat of an anomaly in the field. Maybe Im not an instructional designer at all. I dont do any programming. I dont build courses.
I said a similar thing in a comment on Tony Karrers blog the other day: Isnt the main tool of the PLE our very own little brains? Then I realized Im a constant notetaker, in the pen-and-paper sense. Thats one way for me to process the information Im seeing/hearing, and the same may be true for at least some live bloggers.
