Tuesday, December 04, 2007 The Smell of Books I cant see myself getting an Amazon Kindle. I like sitting on the couch with a book and a cup of tea, thumbing through the pages, smelling the paper and the ink. But Grafton points out some of the more subtle things that are lost when books are digitized.

Back to the Google Desktop -- Im playing around a bit with the searching capabilities and am seeing the light. Im struggling a bit with figuring out how to set the preferences so that it searches where I need it to search (I save most of my files to a shared network drive; not locally). So the search feature -- I get that and Im sold.
