Seriously though, you can think of it as using an infographic, chart, or quick sketch to record information or figure out how things are connected, rather than writing everything out. Want to continue the conversation? And seeing them will make more sense than if I try to explain purely with words!
This makes sense, as DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) is both a popular topic for a lot of training right now, and a topic that often involves nuanced conversations. I always start these conversations by asking about challenges people are experiencing with scenarios. This year, a lot of the conversation revolved around working with SMEs, including getting enough time to do the scenarios (and avoiding last-minute change requests). Basically, it’s a collaborative problem-solving discussion.
Sometimes, branching scenarios need to do more than model possible interactions in a conversation. You branch out in the conversations and decisions somewhat, but you also reach certain milestones as the project continues. I’ll write more about that process of creating images in a future blog post.
We need to do aanalysis, writing, working with SMEs, visual design, etc. They still fall short for scenarios and more emotional or conversational content though.
