I had planned on writing a different blog post today, but I ended up spending a lot of time playing with AI music generation. My AI music prompt I used this prompt with two different tools so I could compare the results. Initially, you get just two short snippets of music. I prompted Suno for some instrumental music as well.

If you’re getting started on a new script for an eLearning course, you probably aren’t planning to create a “musical” experience. Of course you would, because the sun comes up every day. Courses that don’t have a pattern in the first place end up being a mess. In short, you end up with things like the worst eLearning course ever. What about a course where the audio narration doesn’t match the closed caption text? You’re used to it.

Some time ago, I was cast as a chorus member in a musical. I could sing and read music, but I didn’t have any experience dancing. I wasn’t the only person with a background in music. So we had to grin and bear it every time the music director slowed down to explain where we were or what the symbols on the page meant.

De-emphasize or eliminate course info. If your current resume talks about specific courses you taught, de-emphasize or remove that. Even then, hiring managers generally care about the high level subject (science, Spanish, art) rather than the names of the courses. Music and Band Teacher. Music, Band, and Choir Teacher.
