Having returned from my first ever DevLearn, it seemed appropriate to capture some rambling reflections and share them. Themes: Responsive design, interactive video, gamification and xAPI. To get concrete, terms like xAPI may be obscure. The best time to be open is when a term is being used for the first time in your experience. The ultimate goal is to be acquainted with the terminology of your field, and open to new ideas while resistant to unwarranted hype. People can toss around buzzwords to sound cool.
However, there had been a large and very noticeable gap in our schedules at this same time that I felt significantly, both for business reasons and personal: DevLearn 2020 had been fully virtual. A newer standard than even xAPI, Caliper is somewhat less ambitious than xAPI in the number of use cases considered and APIs specified.
