The previous version was done by hand in an old version of Adobe’s DreamWeaver , and while it was very light and minimal, it wasn’t very ‘elegant’ For instance, I’d had one problem that really bugged me, hadn’t been able to fix (though recently I managed to beat it into submission).
There’s nothing like sitting in a coffee shop with your laptop, sipping java and eating pastries (only the healthy ones) and learning how to use Captivate or Final Cut Pro with lynda’s excellent online software tutorials. Lynda.com is not overflowing with eLearning specific tutorials. But it did happen once or twice.

In all honesty, I have complained many times to customers and partners alike about my disappointment in Adobe’s learning products not keeping up with the progressive and innovative feature sets they already offered in their other tools like InDesign and Dreamweaver.

Actually it was more of Dreamweaver that came with templates (at least IMO). I expect to see more authoring tool vendors having a community, beyond just a help guide/manual and/or tutorials. . Video tutorials that follow the “show me, let me try it” model. They all had a learning curve. Community.
However, years from now it may be much more practical and creating HTML5 content will probably be best done via Adobe Dreamweaver. So, learn Dreamweaver now and as HTML5 emerges keep up to date with how to use Dreamweaver to create HTML5 content. Give them a try along with any tutorials available.
