I have some concerns about how SAP will play with them (right now they are separate, but who knows). I dislike that the platform does not automatically include at no charge a SSO between it and SAP. Sure they offer it for a fee, but heck any LMS that interfaces with SAP offers the same option for a fee. E-Learning 24/7.
Additionally, vendors can cease to exist quickly. There are a large number of vendors who support ERP systems, inc. SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle and HRIS systems; thus if you have one of those systems you are now open to a greater number of vendors, rather then staying with your ERP or HRIS provider. E-Learning 24/7.
While many people think that they need an ERP LMS with the same vendor, because they already have that ERP in place, it is no longer true. A good portion of LMSs can integrate or interface with ERP solutions, such as SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle and integrate with HRIS systems. M-Learning. E-Learning 24/7.
Vendors in this category (that you might recognize) – Absorb, Docebo, Learn Amp, Cornerstone, Fuse, SAP Litmos. Combos make up the largest segment of learning systems. SAP Litmos – (Combo) UI/UX is solid, needs a revamp – think freshness on the admin side, and stronger metrics. UI/UX good.
The problem though lies in the fact that once you add some features, eventually you will need to add more and more (HRIS modules for example), which then places you into the ERP space and those vendors. Downside to such an approach – especially for small to mid size vendors. The would rather have a streamlined solution.

Not sure how SAP will eventually impact the system, but for today it stands strong. Jam – which is their social learning and collaboration tool. If this is something you are looking for – i.e. a HCM, then they are the ones to go with – over Cornerstone, Oracle-Taleo, SumTotal and alike. Pricing assistant wizard.
Toss in the integration of ERP solutions (Peoplesoft, Oracle, SAP, Workday) and HRIS systems into the mix and you will see why this is growing. There are vendors who state they are “Performance Management&# LMS/LCMSs, rather than just saying they are a LMS/LCMS vendor. The small size vendors. E-Learning 24/7.
Some vendors who have failed to deliver, in my opinion, a user friendly system, due to front end or back end (admin side), or sometimes both. SAP’s LMS. but cannot figure out what the “url address bar’ means or is located OR you are an expert in numerous SAP modules, but cannot figure out how to use formulas in Excel.
Branding – the only difference is some vendors still charge for this – my question: why? HRIS integration – At one time systems said ERP integration with SAP, Oracle, Peoplesoft for example, now the new buzz: HRIS integration – Lawson. Event management inc.
Can integrate with various HRIS or ERP systems including Oracle, SAP, Lawson. Built in course authoring tool – gaining steam – some are now moving to a partnership with a 3rd party course authoring tool – Personally, I’d rather use my own 3rd party authoring tool than one built in. Why isn’t: SuccessFactors – I really liked this system in my previous rankings, but with a few new items I am hearing in relation to SAP, it drops it out of the top ten. Specifically: No SSO between SF and SAP. SumTotal: Expensive system and what you are buying is name IMO.
