I presented at an eLearningGuild online symposium a couple weeks ago. The topic of the symposium was eLearning2.0 (or or is it Learning 2.0). This presentation is where the Examples of eLearning2.0 - which showed clearly these things are being applied to formal and informal learning opportunities.

I just saw this post - eLearning2.0 - I'm tring to DO IT - that's a response to my post eLearning2.0 - Go DO IT. But most of all, as a presenter / teacher / blogger, you periodically start to feel like - "Does any of this matter?" It because a little addictive though. Way to go Tracy!

It seems that face-to-face and online presenting are becoming more similar. Some aspects: Wireless access is becoming more common in places where presentations occur. A larger percentage of the audience these days brings a laptop to presentations and it seems that the factor of Laptop Distraction is quieting down.
Going back through the back chat / back channel during my presentation was really interesting to me. Since I couldn't read it at the same time I was presenting, it was amazing how much conversation was going on among the participants. One interesting result is that the audience for my eLearning2.0 I hope it was worth it.

One of the barriers commonly cited during my presentations around eLearning2.0 (use use of Web 2.0 / social media for work and learning) is that organizations often have not established their policies or guidelines around the use of these tools. tools as part of our eLearning2.0

I've been approached quite a bit recently to do presentations at local ASTD chapters or to help find a speaker. The reality is that I can't afford to do free presentations at local events. In some cases, I am finding myself doing workshops locally that can then help fund it. I'm looking forward to doing more of these this next year.

The past few conferences I did, I didn't see many bloggers talking about sessions who weren't presenters or long time bloggers. This time I've seen quite a few more mentions in relatively new bloggers: Blog, Blogger, Bloggest eLearning2.0
The first day will be several presenters showing and telling what they've done with SharePoint. A lot of what will be shown is described at a high level in Using SharePoint and Examples of eLearning2.0. We will make announcements through that site. The second day is discussion and conclusions.

Last week I moderated a Technology Council event on Web 2.0 There were lots of interesting things to be taken from the presentations that relate directly to what's happening in corporate learning, but one of the high level trends that made me think came from Matt Glotzbach, Head of Products at Google Enterprise. in Los Angeles.
And finally, we need to thank Tony Karrer because, as Ben states: At the recent ASTD conference in Atlanta, I attended Tony Karrer's presentation on "eLearning2.0". Ben is working on his dissertation which is focused on the motivational impacts of simulations and games--a great topic.
For people reading my blog for a while, if you had been at my recent ASTD presentation on eLearning2.0 - you would have heard a much stronger appeal for learning professionals to blog as compared to a gentler push that I was giving last fall.
