In general, JPG images will be smaller files, because of how they handle image data. First of all, the file type you choose matters. PNG images will have larger file sizes, so avoid those if possible, and only use them where they will really count.

JPG and many of the other formats will not preserve the transparency. Right click on the cloud and select Save as Picture. For the Save as type , choose PNG Portable Network Graphics Format.
