Why wouldn't you use Twitter?! I've only been actively participating on Twitter for 4-5 months now. Here are some terms that are getting more attention the first couple weeks this month (December 2008) include Social Media , eLearning Activity , Mobile Learning , Yugma , Slideshare , SharePoint , Twitter , 100 Conversations , Mzinga , and GeoLearning.
I went on public record several times this year to say that the best continuing professional development (CPD) I have ever received has been through Twitter. Now it depends on how you define CPD, but for me it is the personal learning you require to sustain, enhance and extend your own capabilities within your professional practice.
But those that learn the most are surrounded by managers and co-workers who take an interest in their development, again informal learning.
