For me, this is the time of year when the Top 10 best learningsystems are just around the corner. This post, though, covers what used to be the 11-20 learningsystem rankings. Instead of the traditional Top 10, I’ll be recognizing best-in-class systems in a variety of categories from vendors across the board.
For those new, each year, I publish what I see will be the top 10 systems for the coming year, based on a set of criteria (which will be listed shortly). Too many people focus on features now, and on top of that, what the vendor says is coming. . There are vendors who focus on quality of a specific client segment, rather than mass.
Okay, this is the continuation of the Top 50 LearningSystems for 2020. Below are the Top 20 LearningSystems (of those Top 50). . One area I added is niche when identifying learningsystemvendors for the 2024 awards (end of the year). It doesn’t mean that every vendor has to have this, but rather, it means exploring those who do and whether or not they find success. I always tell the vendor you are supposed to be the expert, not the client.
I’ve been asked to explain the process, approach and criteria for the 2022 LearningSystem Awards and the 2021 Platinum and Diamond Picks. LearningSystem Awards. A lot of folks always ask me what I look or at when considering a system for a client, or when conducting an analysis, as part of my role as an analyst.
The same can be said for Enterprise LearningSystems. Anyone can mention they are Enterprise, and that their learningsystem is for “Enterprises”, but finding the best of the best of those, isn’t so simple to quantify, let alone clarify. Employees will use whatever learningsystem you give them.
In the coming weeks, you will learn the Gen-AI terminology you need to know, with definitions (also available as a download in the learning library), and the latest learning technology/systems worth a few eyeballs. When a vendor goes to a trade show, there is a lot of costs. Other stuff you won’t bring?
It does seem like such a large number, but when you realize that there are over 1,300 learningsystems around the world, 85 isn’t such a big number. And is one that is often overlooked when folks are considering a vendor. Plus, I always recommend going 3rd party authoring tool, even if your system comes with one.
Target audience focus – Employee-focused is gaining traction – this means the system is heavily tilted or focused on employees only (if you want to use the system for customer education/training, you can – after all you are the client. The majority of vendors in the industry slide into the $$ to $$$ area.
LTUK always has challenges with finding the vendors’ booths, because of the way they show the avenues on the floor – I call them that, it is the where you walk down each uh, pathway. This post is all about the vendor, and not where they are located on the show floor. What to have fun with a vendor? Outer edges?
It’s a perfect segue into the 2023, LearningSystem Awards. Initially I was going to present the systems that took off after mid-year, and list them, but I realized the same list would then appear for 2023. Questions – Each learningsystemvendor was asked a series of questions.
As an independent learningsystems consultant , I’m often asked to share my opinion about what’s happening in the LMS market. Last month, I published a mid-year learning technology trends update. Interest in learningsystems remains strong. 2) How is innovation moving learningsystems forward?
When delivering blended learning programs through an LMS, ensure that every learner has easy access to the LMS as and when they need it, along with other components of the blend. I mean, when you consider that “communities” in learningsystems are roaring back (although in all honesty, they never left), as though it is some whiz and wow thing, having a “2” to represent “two” and “C” to represent “see” isn’t so outrageous is it? Well, why not?
LMS vendors, I owe you a post. It’s hard to believe nearly two years have passed since I last shared tips for selling learningsystems. Then we recommend 4 highly qualified, matching vendors to evaluate in a formal RFP process. Selling learningsystems is never easy.

Reporting customization (back then, you had to pay for customized reports – including drilling down to the specific chapters of an online course and getting that data back, which is crucial for employees and even customer training). Today, Today, very few vendors offer this depth. Vendors expect use cases.
And if you are like me, having outstanding support when it comes to your learningsystem should equally be of high importance. Yet in both cases, for the most part, the results on the part of learningsystems in the past has been mixed. Every vendor will state to you, if asked, how great is their support.
Many L&D professionals are becoming more tech and business savvy in engaging with AI vendors, and I would like to see us acting as a bridge between IT and business units in communicating and advocating the use of such tools for learning and performance support purposes.
This makes the procurement of a learningsystem a challenge. And the stakes are high because, according to Fosway’s Digital Learning Realities research , 51% of L&D teams think their current learning platforms are not fit for the modern workforce. Once again the same criteria as the previous rankings, which you can find here and unless otherwise specified you can find every system on my learningsystem search engine platform, FindanLMS. I strongly recommend that if you reach out to any of these vendors, you want to have a demo first and foremost. 37 DialogEdu.
Nowadays every learningsystemvendor out there will tell you their system is Next Generation or some nuanced spin that goes towards NexGen. The problem is that for most of the systems, it just isn’t the case. This is due to a couple of key factors: They do not know what constitutes a system to be NexGen.
I know you are wondering what this has to do with my LMS, LXP, Learning Platform, Employee Development platform, or other type of learningsystem. Are there vendors where this isn’t a failure? Sure, but remember no system is perfect. Vendors will retort that this is doable via a report.
