He has been a speaker at Macromedia/Adobe User Conventions, NASA and the East Coast Games Conference; and was the 2011 recipient of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology Immersive Learning Award.

Macromedia Authorware and similar products. Macromedia Director. The Macromedia set typically would toss in Director, which created an equally impressive array of course capabilities, but a deep learning curve. Eventually, Macromedia Dreamweaver came into the picture. HTML and Javascript. That was pretty much it.

With the acquistion of MacroMedia it looks like Adobe will be leaping into the collaboration space even more quickly. Macromdia currently owns Breeze, and the Flash Communications Server (FCS) which is the underlying technology for many of the real time audio and video collaboration service offerings.

Server dependencies such as Coldfusion, Perl, ASP or server-based databases are problematic as a particular LMS might be running on a server that does not have those services available. SCOs are web-based and script-enabled – consisting of HTML, Javascript and any other client-side technology (images, Macromedia Flash, etc).

Work offline with their optional Studio Server – extra charge. Why say that? Themes, interactions. Collaboration. Scenario branching.
