Since it’s still January and people are blogging about trends or predictions for the new year, I thought I’d share some areas I believe Rapid eLearning Vendors should focus on in 2012 in order to stay ahead of the curve or worse, have a small startup eat their lunch. More collaboration between team members and Learners too.
You’ve heard you should write a blog for your course. But what should you write about? What are they supposed to write about on their blog (or talk about in their podcast)? Whenever you’re struggling to come up with a topic, think about who you’re writing for. Don’t write yourself into a corner.
I’m learning a great deal of new things and meeting great, supportive people along the way. From everything I’m doing and Blogging about, there are certain topics that I’m clearly more passionate about. Mobile in general also requires new user experiences that in my opinion are very different from their desktop counterparts.

With fewer and fewer people sharing and collaborating on Twitter, LinkedIn updates becoming a hybrid between Facebook and Twitter chats, I’ve been relying on my Feedly news aggregator to bring me new content from blogs, feeds, EdTech and tech news sites, etc. But we still get something out of our own humble blog.
They’re responsive to new developments, current events, and changing trends. A large course may take months to write, structure, and deliver, while a micro course could be turned around in a week. Everything is constantly changing, from industries, to technology, to best practices in instructional design.
For example, if you create content about personal finance, your advanced audience most likely won’t be as interested in your new beginner course. Write good emails Unfortunately, there’s no secret formula to the perfect email. Practice style and writing consistency. You can even embed them on your website, blog, or landing page.

With the amount of travel that I do, I’ve come to identify some trends. Those are the trends I am finding in my travel. They are your new BTF – “best trend forever” Trend 1 – Learning Mastery. Anyway it is a trend and may the force of lists be with you. Trends 4, 5 and 6.
