I've run across a few different posts talking about Personal Work and Learning Environments which I have tentatively started to call PWLE - pronounced p-whale. And points us back to Stephen Downes and the skills that we need to learn to be successful in this new world. For me, I add -- why bother? Just do it.

The enterprise provides tools to employees that they can use as part of the PWLE. I could understand an argument that it would be preferable for individuals to be able to use the same tools outside the corporation for personal interests - but I don't see his argument that it is no longer a PLE or PWLE. then shouldn't you make sure you provide these tools now rather than having tools adopted that are outside the firewall and personally owned where you will lose the content if the employee leaves?
