The eLearning Guild’s LS2011 event was well attended and features 50+ vendors and more than 1300 participants from the training and development industry. I was able to spend time with several different vendors who are all preparing to deliver their own mobile learning offers into the marketplace in the coming months. Check it out here.
I think its pretty safe to assume that the big corporate LMS vendors will jump on this bandwagon soon enough by adding a workflow tool into their systems to finally be able to support richer specifications of blended learning programs. While, I want and need the composition, I don't necessarily like the tools being offerred by these vendors.
From a vendor perspective there was a huge impact, but what was odd, is that some vendors still are living in the past, as though, this is a minor blip, and in 2021, everything will go back as it was – corporate wise that is. Sorry to disappoint – but it won’t. . that needed a system.
With all these vendors talking about their solution and its capabilities on mobile devices, it should be easy to find an app for that. Regardless if the vendor is m-learning specific, content authoring tool, LMS, web conferencing or a hybrid. Nowadays more and more vendors (thankfully) are seeing the benefit of mobile devices.
Several of the vendors also button-holed me to discuss my previous blogpost Upstairs downstairs , where I gave a critical report on the previous week's Learning Technologies Conference London exhibition. To their credit, the vendors at this exhibition seemed to be a little more in contact with their training and teaching colleagues.
Today, I was going to discuss how to market your LMS to your employees, but instead wish to focus on a common question, I often receive about LMS vendors. One additional word, as many of you may know, I have launched my “Secret LMS Shopper&# program which will provide an unbiased review of a LMS/LCMS vendor, incl. Love and Hate.
What I like about conferences is the ability to see the latest products and hear the pitches from the vendors. Yet, for all that do it, their are equal number of vendors who do not. Vendors who hand you a product (trial) and their business card or they just have their items in a bowl and you grab one. Questionmark.
Assessment tools including Online Testing Tools (even online proctoring) (ProProfs, ClassMarker, Questionmark). As a whole, business is being generated in all areas, how much is a different story – since it varies by market and by the vendor themselves. More vendors entering the space then leaving it. Where it stands.
I love Questionmark, its a wonderful product and it can use a “connector” to integrate into your learning platform or system. In the end, no matter what type of security you setup, if someone really wants to cheat even with a 360 web cam that the vendor provides, it can be done. Yes, it has a mobile component too.
And if we are going to talk about social media, why aren’t there any vendors from countries such as China? Questionmark – Assessment tool. And there are a lot of businesses out there that block their end users from accessing any type of social media from the workplace. Qzone – 970M users. Weibo – 360M users.
Last year, you couldn’t walk down that aisle to check out those vendors due to the smoke. If you are a vendor in HE, you should be at this show. Some superstar vendors that stood out in this year’s show, and yes, they ended up in my hot picks. For corporate focused vendors – pass.
LMS Vendors to watch. A: I’m split on the fence with standalone assessment tools (example: Questionmark). People leaving – I know, I know they have high retention rates, but I talk to a lot of vendors in this space and I always hear how they have been landing CoD customers, not customer – but customers.
Nice selection of vendors – in general. More vendors showing off their products then in the past – still a couple believe that a poster board will do the trick. Wi-Fi worked a lot better, but vendors and end users still had issues inside the expo hall. I heard this happen to two vendors.
Because it was bad and continues to be, at least with vendors and I have seen it with everyday consumers too. . A couple of weeks ago, a vendor in the micro-learning content space sent me a newsletter, where – wait for it. The big unknown is how aggressive Grovo will be in enforcing the usage of microlearning (r).
There are some good ones out there, and from a learning system standpoint some vendors in the B2B/B2C market are adding this capability. One e-learning vendor who has as part of their assessment solutions has an online proctoring component is Questionmark. They can integrate with any learning system out there. Consider stages.
