Congratulations, you’ve gone through the process of selecting the perfect learning management system vendor for your learning and development organization! All that stands between you and that beautiful piece of learning technology is the vendor contract, and the associated price tag.
A few vendors say “social learning” but it is often far from it. Social tags, RSS, gaming activities. I’m always amazed at some of the names vendors come up with for authoring tools. Well besides my rankings of course, think about this: 1st vendor to offer collaboration and peer review. Task management.
Per Host – My number #1 vendor goes this route, but they and a few others push ultimate options with a minimum number of hosts and I’m not even talking Enterprise yet. There a few vendors who offer a lot more, but nobody is doing like 30 or 40 extensions at this point. Extensions/Connections – You say new trend.
Tutorials when opening the product – Good, but. No SaaS – While the e-learning industry as a whole is going into the cloud, AT vendors as a whole are staying with desktop, even though they have features such as notes (ideal for collaboration, SME peer review in the cloud). Some AT vendors have removed it as well.

I had a great time re-connecting with old friends, making new ‘face-to-face’ connections with friends I’ve gotten to know through Twitter, and made a heap of new friends!
