Users can split the program into columns which show different things, including your Twitter feed, your Facebook feed, Twitter mentions, saved searches, etc. I can minimize it on my desktop and receive bubble notifications every time a column is updated, or I can choose not to receive any. Implementing his model does not include gathering data that would address program improvement efforts.

Sometimes, I use three columns to include a thumbnail of the image as well. I mark these images as “decorative” so the user doesn’t hear the same alt text twice.
