The spark was the example of a teacher/course/set of students/partner that provided their content into the system so that the students could study through a social learning experience. Industrial model learning -> social learning. The absolute best learning opportunity was twice a semester right before midterms and finals.
You can add pictures or sounds to flashcards or with a Java applet, you can record sounds right into flashcards, which also is great for language learning. I think that composition will look and act much more like Wiki Course Authoring. This is something we've wanted to do for a long time in learning, but it's always been hard.
