I’ve been asked to explain the process, approach and criteria for the 2022 LearningSystem Awards and the 2021 Platinum and Diamond Picks. LearningSystem Awards. A lot of folks always ask me what I look or at when considering a system for a client, or when conducting an analysis, as part of my role as an analyst.

The way a 3rd party content provider works with an LXP (or any learningsystem that offers a marketplace) is that they have a partnership agreement – allowing the vendor to have them in their marketplace. What they are and what they are not. No difference.
LXPs offer assigned learning. They, thus are not learner-centric, the moment the client decides to go assigned learning. If you want to provide only compliance content to your learners, you can. Regardless, the number of 100% true LXPs, as they were defined, is minimal in the entire industry of learningsystems.
A SCORM-compliant LMS is defined as any learningsystem that is able to import, launch, and track e-learning content that has been developed using the SCORM standard. Not mandatory, but they validate compliance for credibility. Any other LMS that is SCORM compliant will see the content. What is a SCORM-Compliant LMS?
If I am focusing only on FS and no other industry, will my system align to it correctly? How strong for example, is my compliance capabilities? If you focus on front line workers, blue-collar – does your system have those feature sets and capabilities that meet the needs of those folks? OR were you just muddling around?
A course standard does a lot of things, but it is not a factor in terms of you either building a linear course (which is awful) or non-linear (which is why WBT is so effective over ILT). .
