The selection of an e-learningvendor can seem challenging. Maybe you don’t know what vendors can provide the exact product or service you need, or it might be that you aren’t even sure WHAT you need. My next few blog posts will give some tips I have found for selecting and working with vendors.

This past week I attended an Arena Football league game and came to realize there is a reason I never have been to one – I never heard of anybody nor did i enjoy the blasting of a semi like cannon after they scored a touchdown (which happens a lot). Actually it scored some of the loudest cheers and best of all no cannon fire.
You must do this by testing the programs you have identified for e-learning; provide learners the material in traditional settings as well as online. By assessing learners and comparing scores, you can assess the effectiveness of delivering these training programs online vs. traditional methods.
CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. CBT was the “new” and exciting way to learn. ILT (Instructor Led Training – Workplace, even EdTech – K-12 and Higher Education).

The final score: A tie. I’m sorry but you spent a few thousand for that booth space and you are telling me that people who stop by are not even worth a $4 bag of candy? Well, that’s it from San Jose.
That said, you always score a better deal signing a one year deal. However, M2Ms are easier to pull out of – if u are unhappy with their service, compared to a vendor that you purchased licenses. E-Learning 24/7. New kids on the block, well they have been there for a bit, but you are seeing more and more of them.

If you decide to leave the vendor and go to another system, you can face challenges when moving those 3rd party courses (if you so choose to) into the other systems, some vendors use it as a ploy to keep you “if you leave, you can’t take these with you&#. Go directly to the 3rd party vendor whose courses they are.
To score a lower price point, provide estimates on how many users will be in year two and year three. This is because that is how long it will take you to build mass.
