I pay for the Online Conferences Subscription, which gives me access to multiple online events every year. I’ve spoken at several of TLDC’s events.

Recognizing that development is a process, not an event, is a critical element. Those skills need to be developed to a level where they can be identified, targeted, and assessed. Some will likely be generic, but others will be specific to the organization and its people. Developing new skills takes time.
The most successful L&D programs are not off being or singular training events. Singular training events or programs often reduce knowledge retention and engagement, while programs that foster continuous learning tend to produce the best results. Learning best takes place over time.
If the training event is not conducted in-house, it is outsourced to a third-party organization to execute the corporate training requirements. Procurement connects stakeholders with the training organization even if the training event is created internally. The practice of outsourcing training programs has grown commonplace.
Onboarding is not a single one-time event, but a carefully mapped out journey. A comprehensive onboarding program has each event mapped out in a plan. One of the key factors that all effective onboarding programs have in common is a plan that strategically aligns each step in the onboarding process with the desired results.
However, there is also strong evidence which points to the contrary - 78% of decision-makers have taken an appointment or attended an event as a result of a cold call. In fact, less than 2% of today’s cold calls actually result in meetings, and 63% of sales professionals say it’s what they dislike most about their jobs. What’s the verdict?
