One way to be smart about using text is to have it slide in when you want it and slide out when you are done. Since we want the text to appear to be sliding in, not moving in, the text should be placed so the Text Slider top is at the top of the page (i.e. Next, we'll use transitions for the sliding behavior.

Not only is this more visually appealing than a slide of text, but the diagram itself can come in handy as an abbreviated way to refer back to steps in the process throughout the course. Captivate’s text-to-speech tool is very simple to use and allows you to type the text that you want narrated on each slide. You can select a female voice (Kate) or a male voice (Paul) for each individual slide, which allows you the freedom to mix it up a bit and use both narrators in one course.
