I’ve been asked to explain the process, approach and criteria for the 2022 LearningSystem Awards and the 2021 Platinum and Diamond Picks. LearningSystem Awards. A lot of folks always ask me what I look or at when considering a system for a client, or when conducting an analysis, as part of my role as an analyst.
One area I added is niche when identifying learningsystem vendors for the 2024 awards (end of the year). Way too many vendors rely on what their clients tell them they want in a system. If you are in training, for example, you need to figure it out—not the system. What trends are you seeing? What is popular?
Here is mine to you, actually it is not a gift, it is the Top 10 NexGen LearningSystems for 2021 . NexGen LearningSystems 2021. It is based on my LearningSystems Template, with the items I have highlighted (in my latest version of my template – yellow)/and some are listed below, which I deem as Tier 5 NexGen.
I will go thru several areas for e-learning, not just learningsystems, although by far, it will be the most, since a lot has happened in 2020. . Micro-Learning – Okay, I will say this one last time – micro-learning has been around for more than two decades for online learning. You desire that?

Also, at a time when the average knowledge worker is struggling to set aside time (just five minutes per day) for formal learning, the traditional learningsystem is quite redundant. . They so buy into it, as the best way to learn X or Y, that there is a movement to add synchronous-based learning, back in the day, we referred to SBL as sticking the classroom teaching method online. Hence the benefit of having batch uploading in your learningsystem.
Heck, who wouldn’t want to receive learning/training on skill improvement OR on learning a new skill based on their interests OR the possibility of leadership development or a job role tied to a set of specific skills. Those that are sort of embracing because a competitor has it, pushes it, and so, they are like those folks who still believe ILT is making a comeback.
