A remarkable example of this phenomenon can be found in Wikipedia, a completely user-driven Collaborative Knowledge Support System (my own term) that has become not only the most all-encompassing compendium of knowledge in world history, but increasingly the resource of choice for information on current events.
My goal is to make sure that no matter the size of the project, each company that comes to us gets immediate, attentive, personal service. When Im not busy helping to change the face of corporate learning, I like to train with the Dashe & Thomson company bike team, travel and read.

Im no Facebook super-user and I havent experienced a huge time suck from it, but I suppose its possible. Cammy, Im just a "lite" Facebook user, but I have seen profile pages that list their workplaces with commentary about how horrible their company is, or how much they hate their job. And Im in complete agreement.
Global Networking (finding any info at any time from all over the world) Artificial Intelligence (affective computing, computer can personalize based on who you are) Peer to Peer Technologies (instead of teacher being in charge -- people are learning from each other. Im a Word power-user and love all the little tricks and shortcuts. I really do believe that for many people and organizations it will be the personal use of wikis that propels them into more collaborative work with them. I started off cutting and pasting a lot of documents from Word into the wiki. I miss them. But the payoff is huge.
