I received an email from someone who recently attended my TechSmith Camtasia virtual classes. To begin, TechSmith says that "larger videos (in resolution) will dramatically increase file size. " I completely agree with what TechSmith is saying. That is an excellent question! Set your project size right away.

For instance, which eLearning tool are you going to use to produce the lessons? Is it Adobe Captivate? 60 minutes?

As valuable as many developers viewed the PIP feature, TechSmith dealt away with it in Camtasia Studio 8. However, I never understood why we couldn't just add the image or video onto a different Camtasia Track and avoid the PIP Track. With Camtasia Studio 8, it seems that the good folks over at TechSmith agree with me.

Take Image Buttons for example. You've always been able to insert image buttons in Captivate. Instead, I either use  Smart Shapes as buttons , or I use Image buttons. Here's how you access the new image buttons and, along the way, set Image Buttons as the default when inserting buttons on a slide.

TechSmith has integrated some fantastic assets with Camtasia update 23.3.2. There are videos, images, and sound assets. Either way, the asset will be downloaded from the TechSmith website and added to your project. You will need to ensure that you are running the latest Camtasia update. Using the assets is simple.

I have been a Camtasia fan for a long time, as well as a SnagIt and Jing fan and I’m also very impressed with the work TechSmith is doing on Mobile. All the interactivity works on multiple screens.

  Fortunately, TechSmith addressed the issue in Camtasia 8 with a feature known as Stitching. In the image below, you can see that I've actually stretched the animation across the stitch itself (something that isn't possible when you're working with splits).    Stitching is enabled by default.

  It wasn't until much later that I realized, much to my horror, that while I had deleted the selected audio as intended, I'd also deleted video segments, images, and other parts of my project. Apparently, when you make a selection on the Timeline, items above and below the selection are also selected. in every track.
