I've been having fabulous conversations about using SharePoint. SharePoint is so flexible and the documentation for it is so big and diverse, that a big part of my goals have been to understand the different ways that training organizations are using SharePoint. These would be external consituents.

It puts forward lots of suggestions for how knowledgeworkers can leverage technology to make themselves more effective. I actually think this is some of the most valuable stuff on my blog, and I believe that most knowledgeworkers are not really taking advantage of this at the level they should.
The quality of those well-intended distributions, often via email attachments, or postings to knowledge bases, or communities of practice forums, or corporate shared drives, or SharePoint…or…or…or…are somewhat scattered. That's Point-of-Work, and that's where we can accelerate and protect productivity.

During the year, I’ve had fantastic conversations through LearnTrends around SharePoint , Examples and Tour of Different Kinds of eLearning , Social Learning , and the Business of Learning. Each of these allowed me to fast forward my learning and share knowledge effectively.
In particular, highly skilled workers demonstrate the ability to reflect-inaction (Schön, 1987), to conduct mental simulations as a way of imagining possible outcomes. And this suggests that there is big value in providing knowledgeworkers with ways to assess a situation, to find the cues which link to possible approaches and actions.

In the knowledge economy, employees have no problem getting access to content. Web content is part of the information barrage they experience but so are all the document systems such as SharePoint and email attachments and bookmarks on laptops or mobile devices. Similarly, workers have no problem curating content.
Practical ways of influencing educational needs, as well as enterprise strategies, are highlighted as the solutions for knowledgeworker evolution are considered. People already share knowledge within the enterprise. —and the impacts this will have on the generational divides.
Also, at a time when the average knowledgeworker is struggling to set aside time (just five minutes per day) for formal learning, the traditional learning system is quite redundant. . Currently, it takes far too many clicks to find learning content that employees need.
Industrial age workers created value in factories. Knowledgeworkers create value in workscapes. In most cases, the knowledge work pays the freight; the informal learning comes along for the ride. The workscaping viewpoint helps knowledgeworkers become more effective professionally and fulfilled personally.
