Always see a demo – you steer, they drive (I’ll explain that later). Some people use LP and LMS interchangeably. Never assume though that any LP is the same as every LMS, nor that every LMS is the same as every other LMS, and ditto on LP. When did the cost of living become a factor here?
Is there a possibility that some vendor implodes and doesn’t live up to what I see in the year, sure, but so far, in previous years, they have delivered. Sure, 10 yrs from now, but hey it is on our roadmap. . If your vendor isn’t on this list and you are unhappy, well, some times, being disappointed, is a learning experience.
Showed it via a “live customer.” A few weeks afterwards just by accident did I find out that no, it was not live, it was vapor. Everything is turned on in your demo, but the vendor fails to mention during its presentation that some of that functionality is not included in the product you are looking at.
Have them show you in a demo or via the phone via a web conference if it need be. . One vendor has it live – the Genie authoring tool from Growth Engineering; and two other vendors have it in beta mode. Who ever thought that, really needs to go back and understand where the market on the LMS/LP side is. .
