I have been a Camtasia fan for a long time, as well as a SnagIt and Jing fan and I’m also very impressed with the work TechSmith is doing on Mobile. The new Library is full of professional designed assets for every project, including tons of music, themes, animated titles, callouts, lower thirds, etc.
I’ve used Jing , Snagit, and Camtasia. As a hands-on professional who’s been “making his own deliverables” for years, I absolutely could not do my job if I didn’t have access to Camtasia and Snagit. I’ve them quite a bit in my different roles. The first product from TechSmith I used was Snagit around 1993.
Students write up their code and then fire up something like Snagit for Google Chrome and talk through their code. I know this is written from a computer science point of view, but rapid prototyping can play a significant role in many situations. Students can improvise on a theme in music or play with ingredients in Home Econ.
Both the Camtasia and Snagit tutorials have a quick, visual intro sequence that takes just a few seconds. Here’s the intro that we use on every Snagit tutorial video: The intro takes about six seconds to play. Screencasts can include music, voice narration, and animated text, or they can be simpler and show only the on-screen action and result. If you use music, voice narration, screen video and animated callouts, you can overload your viewer with information. Applications like Camtasia and Snagit record anything on your screen.

Using the principles of career development and employee onboarding, learning and development professionals can contribute to the company’s bottom-line results by helping to onboard managers into their new roles. Use basic Photoshop and Snagit actions to support your work that do not rely on years of graphical design experience.
